Sedum takesimense 'Atlantis' is a colorful, easy-to-grow perennial with striking variegated leaves. Commonly known as Takeshima Stonecrop. It has succulent green leaves edged in creamy yellow which often turns a pretty pink as the seasons go by. Sedum 'Atlantis' is a low growing, spreading Sedum ideal for rockeries, gravel gardens, the front of sunny borders and patio containers. During summer clusters of small yellow flowers appear above the foliage adding even more color and attracting bees and other pollinators.

This hardy little plant loves a sunny position and well-drained soil. Once established, it's drought tolerant and needs very little maintenance, making it a great choice for gardeners looking for plenty of interest without lots of work.

Whether planted in a pot or allowed to spread through a sunny border, Takeshima Stonecrop 'Atlantis' provides attractive foliage, summer flowers and year-round interest in a compact, easy-care plant.

Watering Allow the compost to dry well between waterings, then water thoroughly and let all excess drain away. These plants cope better with being slightly dry than sitting in wet compost, so never leave the pot standing in water. Reduce watering significantly through the cooler, darker months.

Best Growing Conditions Grow in sun or partial shade in fertile, well-drained loam. Choose a position with good airflow and enough space for the plant to reach its mature size. Mulch after planting and keep the root zone free from prolonged waterlogging, particularly through winter.

Top tip

Give it plenty of light and resist watering on a fixed schedule; allowing the compost to dry between waterings is usually the safest approach. Good drainage is especially important, so avoid leaving the roots sitting in persistently wet or compacted soil.
