Give young plants the very best start with our Premium Seed & Cutting Compost. It is specially blended with vital nutrients and trace elements. It provides a light supportive growing medium for sowing seed, establishing seedlings, and rooting cuttings.
You can use the compost on a wide variety of plants, whether you are starting seeds in trays, potting on young seedlings or propagating new plants from cuttings.
Why use Carbeth Plants Seed & Cutting Compost?
- Specially formulated for young plants - for seeds, cuttings and seedlings.
- Added nutrients & trace elements – helps to promote healthy early growth & root development.
- The versatility to use in seed trays, pots and a wide range of seedlings and cuttings.
- Easy to use – loosen the compost before filling your pots or trays and avoid compacting it too firmly, allowing young roots plenty of air.
- Ideal for sowing seeds – fill your tray or pot, gently firm the compost, water and sow according to the seed packet instructions.
- Great for seedlings & cuttings – make a small planting hole, carefully position the plant and gently firm the compost around the roots.
Before Use
The compost may become compacted during transit. When it arrives, carefully open the bag and work the compost between your hands until any clumps have broken apart and it feels loose and evenly blended.
When handling seedlings, try to hold them by the leaves rather than the delicate stem, and always check the individual care requirements of the plant you're growing.
Always wear gardening gloves when handling compost, use in a well-ventilated area, avoid breathing in dust and wash your hands thoroughly after use.
