Watering Water soil thoroughly and allow it to fully drain/dry completely between waterings
Best Growing Conditions Use a well-draining cactus potting mix. Regular potting soil holds too much moisture which can rot the roots. Cactus mix contains sand and perlite to improve drainage. Place the pot in a spot with lots of sunlight. Most cacti need 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day to thrive. A sunny window is ideal. Water sparingly and let the soil dry out between waterings. Only water when the soil is dry to the touch. Overwatering is the most common cause of cactus decline. Fertilize during the growing season. Use a balanced fertilizer once a month at 1/2 the recommended strength. Fertilizer provides nutrients to support healthy growth. Repot as needed if the cactus becomes top heavy or outgrows the pot. Choose a pot one size up and use fresh cactus mix. Following these guidelines will help your cactus thrive in its 5.5 cm pot. Please let me know if you have any other questions.
