  • Starflower ‘Wisley Blue’ is one of those little spring flowers that quietly steals the show. Its delicate star-shaped blooms appear in beautiful shades of soft blue and lavender, bringing a fresh splash of colour to the garden just as everything starts waking up after winter.

  • They look lovely planted along pathways, in borders, rockeries or patio pots, where they create a natural, relaxed display that comes back year after year. As the bulbs settle in, they gradually spread and form larger clumps, giving you an even better show each spring with very little effort.

  • Easy to grow and wonderfully low maintenance, these charming flowers are also loved by bees and other pollinators. A simple but rewarding choice if you want reliable spring colour that feels natural and effortless.

  • Plant genus Ipheion

Watering Water thoroughly after planting to settle the soil around the bulbs. During active growth, water in prolonged dry spells so the soil stays lightly moist but never waterlogged. Once the foliage naturally dies back, reduce watering and allow the bulbs to rest more dryly.

Best Growing Conditions Plant in fertile, well-drained loam in partial shade to gentle sun. Choose a position that does not stay waterlogged in winter, as good drainage helps bulbs return reliably. Allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering so the bulb can store energy for the following season.

    Top tip

Allow the foliage to die back naturally after flowering so the bulb can store energy for the following season. Good drainage is especially important, so avoid leaving the roots sitting in persistently wet or compacted soil.
