  • Looking to start or expand your garden? Our premium strawberry bare root plants are selected for strong roots, healthy growth, and reliable harvests.

  • Easy to plant and low maintenance, they’re perfect for any skill level—so you can enjoy fresh, homegrown strawberries with ease.

  • Choose your perfect variety: Buddy (sweet and juicy), Cambridge Favourite (rich and classic), Christine (bright and refreshing), Elsanta (perfectly balanced), Flamenco (deep and jam-like), Hapil (delicately sweet), Honeoye (bold and aromatic), Marshmello (extra sweet), Sweetheart (rich and fruity), or Symphony (full-bodied and traditional). Pick your favourites and start growing today.

  • For UK growing conditions, these varieties generally flower in different periods. April: Christine, Honeoye start flowering. May: Most varieties flower. June: Cambridge Favourite, Elsanta, Hapil, Marshmello, Sweetheart, Symphony at peak bloom. July–September: Buddy and Flamenco continue producing flowers because they're everbearing.

  • Note that weather can shift flowering by 2–3 weeks earlier or later depending on your location and spring temperatures.

Watering Keep the soil consistently moist while the crop is establishing and growing, especially during flowering, fruiting or rapid leafy growth. Water deeply at the base rather than little and often, allowing excess water to drain away. Plants in containers, grow bags or greenhouses may need daily checks during warm weather.

Best Growing Conditions Grow in sun or partial shade in acidic, well-drained ericaceous soil or compost, enriched with organic matter where appropriate. Choose an open position with good airflow and enough space for the crop to mature without excessive competition. Protect tender crops from late frost and cold winds, and use greenhouse or sheltered growing conditions where the variety requires extra warmth.

    Top tip

Tuck clean straw or another dry mulch beneath developing fruit to keep berries off damp soil and reduce splashing. It works particularly well in a containers setting; give it enough space and light to develop naturally rather than crowding it.
