- Tradescantia ‘Nanouk’ is a really easy way to add a bit of colour to your space. It’s perfect for a shelf, desk, or windowsill if you want something a bit different without it feeling too much.
- As it grows, it starts to trail over the edge of the pot, which makes it great for styling or eventually moving into a hanging planter. It begins quite compact but fills out nicely over time, so you get more impact as it grows. You might even get the occasional small flower, which is a nice extra.
- It’s also very easy to look after. Just keep it in bright, indirect light and let the soil dry slightly between watering. Once it settles in, it pretty much takes care of itself, making it a good option whether you’re new to plants or just want something low effort.

Watering Water when the top few centimetres of compost begin to dry, then water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain away. Do not leave the plant sitting in standing water, as consistently wet roots can lead to rot. Growth slows in winter, so reduce watering frequency during cooler, darker months.
Best Growing Conditions Grow in bright, indirect light, ideally at around 18-26°C, away from cold draughts and sudden temperature changes. Use a good-quality, well-drained houseplant compost and make sure excess water can drain freely from the pot.
